São Pedro is one of the Popular Saints celebrated during the month of June in Portugal - on the 29th - and is the patron saint of fishermen. For this reason, he deserves a big party in Afurada, a fishing parish in Vila Nova de Gaia, located near the mouth of the River Douro.
